Spotlight on: ‘Inside Out’ Secondhand Designer Clothing Boutique

For visitors and locals alike, ‘Inside Out’ is a must-go-to destination! Vintage haute couture collector Charlotte Smith would agree. When she was here for iD Fashion Week, she raved about her ‘Inside Out’ experience and bagged lots of goodies. Cindy King has been running the business for 14 years and has only recently relocated it to the convenient location of 492 George Street. The shop has been refurbished and extended to also include her menswear collection. So girls don’t forget to bring your guys with you on your next visit.

What sets this secondhand clothing boutique apart from others? Lots of things. The interior is stylish and uncluttered. The clothing, with a focus on local/New Zealand designers, is immaculately presented. There is a quick turnover of items so there’s always something new to look at. Nothing is too much trouble for Cindy and her right-hand woman Deby. Their fashion knowhow means that they can predict which customer will suit a particular item when it comes in. Just let them know what you’re looking for!

A speciality of ‘Inside Out’ is their client evenings. These are completely free of charge and even include nibbles and wine. Just come along with your friends or work colleagues (minimum of 10) and enjoy a fun time exploring the racks. You will need to book in advance but timing is very flexible.

These photos say it all!
