Gigatown Dunedin: Famous 3D Street Artist Hits The Octagon

Over the last three days, Leon Keer, world-renowned Dutch 3D street artist, has been painting an internet-themed scene on the Octagon pavement which he completed at about 3pm today. You might be asking, why is he here? Dunedin is currently competing against other NZ towns for the prize of the fastest internet connection in the Southern Hemisphere. As part of the overall competition, Dunedin won the ‘Supporters World’ competition with more recent signups nominating our city than any other NZ town. The prize was 25,000 Gigapoints and Leon Keer’s street art. When he’d finished, the Octagon became a hive of activity with many photographers and journalists admiring his amazing work. If you’re in the Octagon, it’s well worth a look!
