Love is in the air in Dunners with head-over-heels couples and heart-warming shop displays! Just remember, love comes in all guises.
How lucky are we to be living in a city where the urban landscape is so green. From Dunedin’s town belt to the native bush of Ross Creek to the distant hills of the peninsula, there’s an abundance of lush vegetation. It’s good to be green with fashion too and we’re not spoilt for choice – second-hand, vintage, recycled, upcycled and eco-friendly.
Why we love …
NOM*d – for their upcycling of vintage into new
Kowtow – for their use of only fair trade organic cotton
Melanie Child – for her entirely upcycled and innovative collections
Why we love …
Underground Sundae – for their use of ‘found’ objects to create stunning unique jewellery
Vivienne Westwood – for her environmental activism
Standard Issue – for their use of only metallic-free-dyed yarn to create items “made to last”
Sincere thanks to Slick Willy’s for allowing us to borrow this item.
And just for Christmas …
We have lots to shout about in Dunedin from our beautiful suburbs to our innovative creative talent. This showcases both plus a few extra things we’ve picked up along the way. Thanks to Ross Creek for being a great photographic location.
Dunedin’s Kensington Army Hall had plenty of soldiers on duty last night but they weren’t executing their normal manoeuvres. Instead, they were escorting beautiful models down the catwalk and serving wine to over 300 lucky ladies at the Zonta Charity Fashion Show – Extraordinary Fashion 2013. Mercy Hospital was the main sponsor but it was great to see so many local designers and businesses also supporting this important cause!
